Leathercraft, Metal, Sculpture, Printmaking
The artistic journey, for me, began at Rice University with a course in black and white photography. The darkroom opened a window into the creative process. Afterwards, I attended studio courses at U.T. San Antonio. Since completing visual art studies, my current subject matter is nature and the feminine form. The mediums utilized are printmaking, eco-printing, etching on aluminum and leather.
Currently, I’m exploring 3-dimensional art utilizing metals, wood and acyclic. The challenge is to give a flat surface an expressive sculptural shape. Often the results yield unexpected outcomes, almost an alchemical experience that makes each piece unique.
