Terri St.Arnauld

Photography

Terri St.Arnauld is a fine art photographer employing a variety of film, and hand-printing techniques, sometimes using other art mediums in her work. She developed a method of weaving two platinum prints together to form a single image with a cubist look. Terri enjoys photographing people, places, and things, as well as her dog Periwinkle.

Terri began darkroom printing in 1990 and set up her own darkroom with husband, Frank Yezer, in 1996. They collaborated until 2022, when Frank passed away. During that time, they worked with medium-format and large-format negatives and learned historic printing processes, settling primarily on platinum. These prints are admired for their ability to reproduce a long scale of tonal values; their depth, since they are not reflective; and their permanence.

Terri continues to print in platinum and learned digital techniques in the 21st century. Her favorites are woven platinum prints, especially the portraits. Terri misses the richness of Cibachrome and Polaroids (for transfers), as materials for both have been discontinued.
