I am excited to be part of Art04 to share my art with you! People have told me that my artwork leaves them feeling peaceful, calm and centered. Drawing upon heart-felt memories and ordinary moments, I enjoy making art that reflects a sense of balance and beauty. Nature is a favorite source of inspiration, and my daily meditation practice cultivates a full-bodied sense of calm which is the core inspiration for my work.
Starting with a simple composition, the piece becomes layered and excavated, then layered again to create depth. I'm always seeking 'the light' within each piece, creating subtle tensions between hues and tones, dark and light. Ultimately, I build upon the energy of my initial strokes to keep my work authentic and the result is an image with an overall sense of energetic tranquility.
